Spring Valley High School hosted the Palmetto Power Clean Championship. This is the first time this meet has been hosted at Spring Valley since 2014. Coach Mike Armstrong started this meet here at Spring Valley in 2004. Our Vikings competed exceptionally well. The girls' and the guys' placed 2nd overall in the team points. Here are some of the highlights from last night.
These athletes all placed in their respective weight classes and made the All-State Team:
Macy Rumpell placed 3rd in the 110 weight class.
Phoebe Marty placed 2nd in the 110 weight class.
Allie Pritchard placed 1st in the 110 weight class.
Duncan Kuhn placed 3rd in the 120 weight class.
Emily Smoak placed 3rd in the 130 weight class.
Meredith Bowen placed 2nd in the 140 weight class.
Kaylee Thomas placed 2nd in the 190/200 weight class.
Chandler Johnson placed 3rd in the 190/200 weight class.
Joshua Brewington placed 2nd in the 140 weight class.
Kam Portee-Broadwater placed 2nd in the 160 weight class.
Sawyer Sheffield placed 3rd in the 180/190 weight class.
Brent Mills placed 2nd in the 180/190 weight class.
Matt Putnam placed 2nd in the 205 weight class.
These athletes competed very well and did an excellent job representing Spring Valley. There were 115 athletes here last competing across the different weight classes. All of our athletes made me very proud to be part of Spring Valley.
