After contributing to Spring Valley’s 2023 Track and Field State Championship in coaching the 4th and 7th State Placers in the pole vault event, Coach Chris Cochran will be impacting an additional program on campus as the new Head Wrestling Coach.  Coach Cochran is excited to establish the championship culture he has already been a part of here at Spring Valley High School but most importantly, to develop great young people in the community.

Coach Cochran brings experience from the SEC as a pole vaulter on the USC Track and Field team from 2014-2018, and he plans on providing similar high-level training combined with a lifelong wrestling background. His father has coached many State Wrestling Champions and National Wrestling Champions, and Coach Cochran brings a hunger to add to that legacy.

Although he has only been a resident of Columbia since he came to USC in 2014, Coach Cochran is dedicated to giving back to the community that has taken great care of him over the past decade and pay it forward.
