Peter Boulware- 1993

 

A 1993 graduate of Spring Valley, Peter Boulware lettered in both track & field and football for the Vikings.

 

Peter excelled for the Vikings on the gridiron where as a senior he recorded 132 tackles and 14 sacks establishing him as a member of the  South Carolina Football Coaches Association and a participant in the South Carolina/North Carolina Shrine Bowl.

 

After graduation, Boulware attended Florida State University on a football scholarship.  In 1996, he was named 1st Team All-ACC, ACC Defensive Player of the Year,  & National Defensive Player of the Year.  Peter graduated from Florida State in 1997 with a degree in Management Information Systems.

 

In that same year the Baltimore Ravens selected Peter in the 1st round of the 1997 NFL draft (4th overall).  In his first season with the Ravens he recorded 66 total tackles and 11.5 sacks leading him to be named NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year.  During his nine-year NFL career, Peter was named to the Pro Bowl four times (‘98,’99, ‘02, ‘03) and was a contributing member to the Ravens Super Bowl XXXV victory.

 

In 2004, Peter was inducted into the Florida State Athletic Hall of Fame and in 2006 he was inducted into the Baltimore Ravens “Ring of Honor.”   He is a 2020 inductee to the South Carolina Athletic Hall of Fame.
