Mike Gill- 1974

A three sport lettermen for the Vikings, Gill from 1971-1974 where he excelled in football, basketball, and baseball. 

 

As a member of the Spring Valley Baseball program Gill helped the Vikings to 3 consecutive region titles from 1972-1974.  In 1973 he helped lead the Vikings to a South Carolina Lower-State Runner-up finish and a 1974 South Carolina State Runner-up finish.

 

On the hardwood Gill was a varsity team member for 3 years lettering twice for the Vikings basketball team helping them to a 1973 region championship.  He was voted captain and MVP his Senior season. 

 

As the quarterback of the Vikings put together an impressive career from 1972-73.  In 1973 Gill was selected as a tri-captain of the Vikings football team.  An impressive senior season led to a 1973 region championship as well as a 1973 South Carolina Football State Championship.  Gill was selected as the team’s MVP while also earning All-State honors and being selected to participate in the North/South All-Star game.
